Adios Radar
How Adios Radar works
Adios Radar follows official notices about products taken off the market in Croatia and brings them together in one place: readable, sorted and with the codes you can compare with the product at home.
Where the data comes from
Only from official sources that publish recall notices. Each notice on Adios links to the original, which stays authoritative:
- Hrvatska agencija za poljoprivredu i hranu (HAPIH)
- Europska komisija – RASFF (sustav brzog uzbunjivanja za hranu i hranu za životinje) (EU RASFF)
- Europska komisija – Safety Gate (sustav brzog uzbunjivanja za opasne neprehrambene proizvode) (EU Safety Gate)
The notices are usually issued by the State Inspectorate of the Republic of Croatia or the Ministry of Agriculture and published by the Croatian Agency for Agriculture and Food (HAPIH). EU alerts that concern Croatia come from the European Commission's rapid alert systems: RASFF for food and feed (notified by Croatia, distributed to Croatia or made in Croatia) and Safety Gate for non-food products (notified by Croatia or found on the Croatian market). Goods stopped at the EU border are shown as well, but they never reached the shops.
What happens to a notice
- Checked every 10 minutes. New notices are found as soon as the source publishes them.
- Read in full. The whole notice is read, together with its product photos.
- Structured with AI. The products, barcodes (EAN), batches (LOT), dates, companies and shops are taken out, and the notice gets a category and a reason.
- Written up in Croatian and English. A short title, a summary and what consumers should do.
- Published with a link to the original. Updates and withdrawn notices are linked to the notice they change.
Categories
Reasons
The colour of a notice shows how serious the risk is: red for a serious risk (dangerous bacteria, undeclared allergens, glass or metal, choking hazards), orange for high and medium, grey for labelling and quality issues. A withdrawn notice turns green.
Notifications
Turn on notifications and your browser tells you about each new recall in the categories you choose. Only new notices are sent, never the archive; several notices at once arrive as one message; at most 4 a day. You can turn them off at any time with the same button.
On iPhone and iPad: open Adios in Safari, Share → Add to Home Screen, then turn on notifications from that icon.
Questions
What is a product recall?
A recall asks consumers to stop using a product they already bought and to return it, because it may be unsafe (for example bacteria, an undeclared allergen, pieces of glass or a chemical over the limit). The company does it, usually ordered or supervised by the inspectorate.
What is the difference between a recall and a withdrawal?
A withdrawal only takes the product off the shelves before it reaches consumers. A recall also reaches products that are already at home: consumers are asked to return them or not to use them.
How do I know if my product is affected?
Compare the product name, package size, barcode (EAN), batch (LOT) and the best-before date with the notice. Only products with exactly those details are affected; the same product with another batch or date is not.
Is Adios Radar an official source?
No. Adios Radar collects official notices, summarises them and links every one to the original. The original notice of the source is authoritative.
How quickly does a new notice appear?
Sources are checked every 10 minutes, so a new notice usually appears on Adios within a quarter of an hour of being published.
Can I get notifications only for baby food?
Yes. When you turn notifications on, choose the categories you care about, for example baby food and baby products, or leave all categories on.
Does it cost anything?
No. Adios Radar and its notifications are free.
