The European Commission validated RASFF notification 2026.3841 on 30 April 2026 concerning enoki mushrooms from China, via the Netherlands. Official control on the market (sampled 27 April 2026) found Listeria monocytogenes at 8.0E+05 CFU/g in the chilled product, packed at 100 g.

The product was distributed to a number of countries, including Croatia, where a recall from consumers was carried out. The Netherlands ordered withdrawal from the market and destruction of the product, and public warnings were issued in Luxembourg, Belgium, Hungary, Slovenia, Switzerland and Denmark.
