The Croatian State Inspectorate informs consumers that the product jelly strips Jin Jin assorted jelly strip, all LOT numbers and best-before dates, is being recalled.

The product contains unapproved additives E407 (carrageenan) and E410 (guar gum). These additives can affect the consistency of the jelly, so because of the product's hardness a health risk to consumers, especially children, cannot be ruled out – there is a possibility of choking when swallowed.

The product does not comply with Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 on food additives and Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 on the general principles and requirements of food law.

The supplier is Crevel Europe GmbH of Erfurt, Germany; the retailer is Osmi kontinent d.o.o. of Dubrovnik. For more information contact the Croatian State Inspectorate.
