The EU Safety Gate rapid alert system (reference SR/02186/26) published on 4 August 2026 the withdrawal of a Peppa Pig plastic toy, batch 2500703. The alert was notified by Poland, and the product was found on the market in Croatia by its authorities.
The product is a set of four hard plastic pieces shaped like a cell phone, a car, a locomotive and a pig, each measuring approximately 78 mm, sold with the children's magazine "Peppa Pig" (3/2025). The toy breaks easily, releasing small parts that a small child may put in the mouth and choke on. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive or with European standard EN 71-1.
From 30 July 2026 the distributor voluntarily withdrew the product from the market and warned consumers of the risks. The country of origin is the People's Republic of China. More information: [email protected].
