The State Inspectorate of the Republic of Croatia informs consumers about the recall of four products made by BioTechUSA Kft. of Budapest: Protein Bar 70 g double chocolate (LOT 1287586), Protein Dessert Bar 50g Crunchy Caramel (LOT 1287588), Protein Dessert Bar 50g Black Biscuit (LOT 1287589) and Choco Pro 50g double chocolate (LOT 1287587).
The products are being recalled because they contain an increased amount of gluten although they are labelled as gluten-free. Such a product may pose a health risk to consumers sensitive to gluten, while people who are not sensitive may continue to use it without restriction.
The products do not comply with Regulation 178/2002 and Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 on the provision of food information to consumers. The country of origin is Hungary.
