Croatian inspectors recall seven AMAIZIN corn products (tortilla chips and rolls) over elevated tropane alkaloid levels, with best-before dates from 13.08.2022 to 05.03.2023.

The Croatian Inspectorate informs consumers that the following AMAIZIN products are being recalled due to an increased amount of tropane alkaloids: ČIPS TORTILLA NATURAL GF 75 g, 150 g and 250 g, ČIPS TORTILLA PAPRIKA GF 75 g, ROLICE KUKURUZNE S RAJČICOM GF 100 g, ČIPS TORTILLA CHILI GF 75 g and ČIPS TORTILLA SIR "NACHO" GF 150 g, all with best-before dates from 13.08.2022 to 05.03.2023.

The products do not comply with Regulation 178/2002 establishing the general principles and requirements of food law.

The supplier is DO – IT Organic, Barneweld, Netherlands; the product is placed on the market by Biovega d.o.o., Majstorska 1E, Zagreb. Further details about the recall are available on the food business operator's website.
