The European Commission validated RASFF notification 2026.8085 on 14 September 2026, notified by Croatia. It concerns dates from Iran, 500 g packs, in which a sample taken on 9 September 2026 showed a mould count of 1900 CFU/g (non-pathogenic micro-organisms) and altered organoleptic characteristics.

The product was distributed to Croatia and Slovenia, and companies in Croatia, Iran and Slovenia are involved. In Croatia a recall from consumers was ordered (marjan-voce.hr), while Slovenia issued a public warning via a press release.
