The State Inspectorate of the Republic of Croatia informs consumers that cured meat products (kulenova seka, sausages, bacon) produced in the Savo Nedić household were placed on the market at Osijek market between October and the end of December 2021, and that the parasite Trichinella spiralis was found in them.

Given the finding, there is a possibility of trichinosis in people who ate the purchased cured products directly or did not heat them adequately. The illness causes abdominal discomfort, cramps, diarrhoea, muscle pain (especially in muscles used for breathing and chewing) and fever.

The products do not comply with Regulation 178/2002. They were produced in October 2021; the producer is Savo Nedić of Bobota. The notice applies only to products with the stated details.
