The EU Safety Gate published on 13 August 2026 a recall notice for the passenger car Nissan QASHQAI, model e9*2018/858*11042, made in Spain, with batch PG5CA and batch number 08.07.2025 - 20.05.2026.
Due to incorrect software calibration, the lithium-ion battery controller may not reliably detect battery cell anomalies. The system may switch to fail-safe mode while the vehicle is being driven, limiting engine power and preventing charging. Under certain conditions, this could turn off the main relay and cause a loss of propulsion, meaning the vehicle may come to a stop while in motion, increasing the risk of an accident.
The alert concerns injuries and a serious risk; the product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles. The manufacturer has carried out a voluntary product recall from consumers from 14 July 2026. The product was found on the market in Croatia by its authorities; the alert was notified by France.
