Recall: Nutrigold and Bio zone hummus over ethylene oxide pesticide in sesame seeds

Croatia's Ministry of Agriculture recalls Nutrigold organic hummus 260 g (lots 20200903, 20201023, 20201110) and Bio zone chickpea roasted pepper spread 175 g (best before 20.10.2021, 22.10.2021, 04.12.2021) over elevated ethylene oxide pesticide levels in sesame seeds.

Croatia's Ministry of Agriculture has informed consumers about the recall of two products: "Hummus – Organski 260g Nutrigold" (LOT 20200903, 20201023, 20201110) and "Bio zone namaz slanutak pečena paprika 175 g" (use by 20.10.2021, 22.10.2021, 04.12.2021).

Sesame seeds used in the production of these finished products were found to contain an elevated amount of the pesticide ethylene oxide. The products do not comply with Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 on maximum pesticide residue levels and Regulation 178/2002 on general principles and requirements of food law.

The products are placed on the market by Galleria Internazionale d.o.o. of Zagreb and Konzum plus d.o.o. of Zagreb; the manufacturer is Organa d.o.o., Nasovce 34, Komenda, Slovenia.
