Oil pomace olive oil

The European Commission validated RASFF notification 2026.6824 on 31 July 2026 concerning pomace olive oil originating from Slovenia. Samples taken on 12 June 2026 showed mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH) at 65 mg/kg and 55 mg/kg, while the maximum permitted level is 10 mg/kg.

The risk is considered serious. The notification was submitted by the Netherlands, and the product was distributed to a number of countries including Croatia, where a stock check was carried out.

Slovenia took measures to withdraw the product from the market and informed the consignor and recipients. For Croatia, the measure recorded is that no stock was left, with the outcome of investigations reported on 26 August 2026.
