The EU Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), notification 2026.3516, validated by the European Commission on 23 April 2026, warns about chlorpyrifos in chickpea flour originating from India. The sampled product contained 0.1 mg/kg against a maximum permitted level of 0.01 mg/kg. The sample was taken on 16 March 2026 as part of official control on the market.
The product comes in 2.0 kg and 1.0 kg packs. The notification was submitted by Denmark, and the flour was distributed to Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
