The EU Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) published notification 2026.4708 on 28 May 2026 concerning too high zinc content in Now Foods food supplements from the United States, distributed via Latvia.

The products concerned are Now Foods Zinc Picolinate 50 mg – Immune system support, Now Foods Zinc Glycinate Softgels – Immune system support and Now Foods Zinc Gluconate 50 mg – Oluline mikroelement, all labelled TRUFIT.eu. The sample contained 50 mg of zinc per dosage, sampled on 27 May 2026.

The products were traded online and distributed to Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Spain. Denmark and Hungary carried out a recall from consumers, and Hungary also issued a public warning.
