Recall: Eridanous caramelised nuts over pesticide ethylene oxide

The Ministry of Agriculture recalls three Eridanous caramelised nut products (almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts with sesame) over residues of the pesticide ethylene oxide. Sold at Lidl.

The Ministry of Agriculture informs consumers about the recall of ERIDANOUS CARAMELISED NUTS: Caramelised Almonds with Sesame Seeds 120 g (LOT 210424 P01CMAS, best before 24.04.22), Caramelised Hazelnuts with Sesame Seeds 120 g (LOT 210424 P01CMHS, best before 24.04.22) and Caramelised Peanuts with Sesame Seeds 150 g (LOT 21 04 26 P01CMPS, best before 26.04.22).

The products are being recalled because the pesticide ethylene oxide was detected. They therefore do not comply with Commission Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 on maximum residue levels of pesticides in or on food.

The producer is RIZOS NUTS S.A., Thessalonik, Greece. Wholesaler: Lidl Stiftung und Co. KG, Neckarsulm, Germany. Placed on the market by LIDL HRVATSKA d.o.o. k.d., Velika Gorica. Further details are available on Lidl's website.
