Croatia's Ministry of Agriculture informs consumers about the withdrawal and recall of the product Lara corn grits 1 kg, originating from the Republic of Serbia, lot number L131218A, with a best-before date of 13.12.2019, due to elevated levels of tropane alkaloids in the product.

The product does not comply with Regulation (EC) No 178/2002. According to the risk assessment, consuming this product poses a health risk to children, while for adults a risk is only expected in cases of larger consumption.

The distributor and EU importer placing the product on the market is Vm2 d.o.o., Rudeška cesta 14, 10000 Zagreb, whose website provides further information. The producer is Granexport Pančevo and the packer is MORAVKA PRO d.o.o., both in the Republic of Serbia.
