EU Safety Gate alert SR/02066/26, published 16 July 2026, was notified by Germany.
Manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is recalling lorries of the ACTROS, AROCS, ATEGO and eACTROS models (Germany) because of manufacturing errors in the production of steering components. The components may have reduced fatigue strength or be susceptible to breakage; if one breaks, the steering may fail, creating a risk of accidents. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers.
The affected models carry approval numbers from e1*2018/858*00039*00*10 to e1*2018/858*00062*00*10 and were produced between 22 August 2025 and 28 January 2026. The product was found on the market in Croatia by its authorities; France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden and Slovenia also found it.
The measure is a voluntary action by the manufacturer from 10 July 2026. More information is available from Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
