Croatia's Ministry of Agriculture informs consumers about a voluntary recall of additional products carried out by Hill's Pet Nutrition on its own decision, due to potentially elevated levels of vitamin D in the products concerned.

The products are Hill's Prescription Diet Canine i/d 12x360g cans, SKU Number: 8408T, LOT: 092020T27 and Hill's Science Plan Mature Adult Active Longevity Chicken 12x370g cans, SKU Number: 8055U, LOT: 112020T25. The products originate from the USA.

Vitamin D is an essential nutrient for dogs, but oral intake of elevated levels can lead to health problems depending on the level and the length of feeding. Dogs may show vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, increased salivation and weight loss; in serious cases elevated vitamin D intake can result in impaired kidney function.

Owners who bought the listed batches should stop feeding them to their dogs. If a dog shows any of these symptoms, contact a veterinarian. For further information, contact the manufacturer Hill's Pet Nutrition or the importer and distributor for Croatia, DDL Zagreb d.o.o., at +385 1 3017 011.
